Grand Champion, ImagineCup 2005 Singapore
WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is crazy i tell u... n its definitely totally surreal. only now is the reality of winning sorta sinking in. hahahhaha! we are best in singapore! can u imagine?
pls allow me to describe everything to the finest details... its only so many times u can emerge as a grand champion in any competition... =)
since becoming one of the grand finals last week, we have worked extremely hard every single nite (we can only work nites coz dot is doing internship), only reaching home abt 1+ am all the time. it was really super tiring. actually, am still very shagged out... last nite was the worse. had to get our static display boards printed in queensway, finalise our presentation, practise like mad and stick our postcards under all the seats in the auditorium. wahz~ left MS only ard 2am i think. by the time i got home, i din even hav the energy for my nitely phonecall to feng.
woke up at 7am dis morn n cabbed down to MS. my eye bags were SOO dark n big - horrendous! arrived still in my specs and messy hair. haha! all the other male competitors (me n dot were the only girls) were staring. hahah!
u wont know how nervous i was b4 our presentation man. but it was sorta encouraging when we saw the team b4 us presenting, or rather, merely reading from the podium. our presentation cant be worst than that lohz.
weirdly, the emcee spent a significant amt of time introducing our team - the collaboration btw 2 schs, and even quoting us on why we decided to join the competition. haha, i was so embarrassed coz my reason was the prizes. anyway, our presentation went really smooth. =) of coz i stumbled/paused here n there due to nervousness, but got back within 2 seconds. think they enjoyed the super short skit when i acted and they definitely loved vincent's dramatic demo. it was super funny n entertaining. altho we've heard it umpteen times, we still always laugh.
we were the ONLY team where all 4 members presented and all 4 answered questions. as quoted by a reporter who interviewed us, "i noticed ur team has alot of chemistry..." wahaha! the judges asked ALOT of qns. and that was definitely a good sign. we were so relaxed, even grinning away during the Q&A, it was fun instead of nerve-wrecking. i was quite shocked when a judge said, "i know ur system will earn money" after i sorta answered out of point. haha!
then, dilly dally while we waited for the results. prizes were given out to all the other finalists (5th-12th). then came the top 4. 4th was expected n the emcee did a booboo n flashed their name way b4 he was supposed to announce. then 3rd. sheesh. i was soooo nervous. dot too. we were like grabbing each others hands sooo tight. then the emcee stalled for such along time talking crap. it was unnerving. i felt like the final 2 of a miss universe pageant. i'm serious! bcoz we have always known its either them or us. they're a very strong team with wins from lots of other competitions. when the emcee finally announced, "and the runner up is Medisign." dorothy n i screamed. WE Won! Envisage won! we actually won!!! we're going japan! we're really getting a zen each! wahahahha! n there were so many flashes ard us! =)
after that, things juz happened in quite a blur... went on stage to collect our zen micros, n the flash bulbs juz kept clicking, posed with our Cup trophy, the flashes continued. got off stage, shook lots of hands, hugged mama, took more pictures for ourselves, lingered ard and most of the crowd filtered out. did snippets of our presentation again for CNA, got interviewed, cleared up... n finally got to sit down for lunch in the recreation room with stanley only ard 3pm.
tmr's justin's gonna appear live on CNA at 8.50am! haha! n i'm gg down to support him in every way i can.
i'm going japan!!!! yokohama! fully expense paid trip! wahz...~ it's really been a helluva ride. n i'm expecting more to come my way.
my zen micro! n guess wat?! there was an orange one! like, it was meant for me. wahahah!
