i hate people who mention things like "hey, you got pimple breakout ah?". i love those who allow me, or rather, my breakout to remain inconspicuous when its obviously not. haha. that's why i love feng. he rarely notices my pimples. maybe that's coz he has stopped looking at me, haha. but i choose to think that he can see pass all that superficial stuff. =)

anyway, another nice converstaion with feng that gave me the warm fuzzy feeling *smilez*
me (after talking abt my pimple breakout again): i'm so ugly!
him: pimples are ugly dear. you are always pretty.

great grandmother

(pls ignore my messy hair, the wind on the 24th floor can be quite substantial at times).

this is my great grandmother. can u guess how old she is?? she is a century old. yes, 100 years old this year. cool huh? alot of times, i'm juz in awe in her presence. she's still such an elegant and pretty lady despite her age!

izzant it amazing that she still has black hair? and her eyebrows are still thick! AND she still can walk, of coz she needs her walking stick, but she still can shuffle around the house without it too.she lost her all her teeth quite early on and chose not to put on fake teeth coz it was v uncomfortable. since i can remember, she has been chewing with only her gums. can u seriously imagine that? she is one strong woman man. marrying rich to some business man's son in her teens, coming to sg with her husband - who was some rice merchant. survived WW2 but lost everything. my great grandpa died young and for most part of her life, she was alone, raising all 10 kids by herself, and helping to take care of grandchildren too!

she knows all her great grandchildren by name and asks relevant questions, like "it's my last year of studies rite?" not like other relatives who keep thinking that i'm either year 1 or 2.
i really wish i could communicate with her more, but she talks pure teochew and the only things i can make out are "sheng ti jian kang", "xue yue jing bu" and when she says i pretty.

i juz hope her remaining time here on earth will be less painful. otherwise, i'm not worried, coz she has been saved and the Lord will be there to receive her with open arms when the time comes. =)

Vday 07

remember my gorgeous shimmery pink party 3-inch heels? hmm... not sure if i showed it before, but anyway, i finally wore it for the first time today.

aint it juz soo pretty?

feng n i went for vday dinner tonite as he's gg for biz trip the next 2 days. he kept the venue a secret until meeting me, and i was disappointed that it turned out to be ricetable. he really tot i'll like it since i mentioned it b4, but after eating at the suntec outlet (which turned out sucky)with ma some months ago, i wasn't looking fwd to going back. but nothing else at cuppage was interesting so we stuck with his booking, and i'm glad we did coz cuppage's ricetable is so so so much better.

didn't walk ard at all after dinner coz beauty comes with a price and my heels were killing me despite investing $10 in Scholl's party feet invisible gel cushions - i quote "help prevent the burning pain in the balls of your feet". it really made a big diff but 3inch heels needs practise to get used to. its like walking/standing on tiptoes for hours. i'm amazed by the women who can wear closed toes 3inch heels. man do not know the pain women can endure.

anyway...... it's my 3rd valentine's with feng oredi. today wasn't as great as the previous 2; nevertheless, i'm sure there'll be many more wonderful ones we'll share together.

people get more and more unforgiving with age. accidents that happen when we're kids are like so natural and even inevitable. everytime we played catching or when we ran abt, frens falling down was like an everyday thing. we either juz simply pick ourselves up or are helped up by caring frens, brush our wounds and carry on playing. i remember the days when boy classmates or churchmates always forget to zip up. after laughing at their open-coffee-shops, such 'accidents' were treated lightly n easily forgotten.

yet in adulthood, such human mistakes are not taken in such light-heartedness. it is commonly noticed that when some unfortunate soul falls, many stare n carry on walking while some even distance themselves from the accident n label that person as clumsy, etc. it was a full one min before anyone of those starers decided to lend a helping hand when i tripped (n sat there in shock) in the library some time ago. forgetting to zip up is certainly a big deal n a super embarrassing thing to guys, and definitely not smthg that will slip their mind for at least the next few days...................

i saw a man's open fly on the bus today. being a female stranger, i could only hope that his frens will let him know. on another note, he was wearing white. how rare!

embarrassed

the baker whose cheese brownies and rich chocolate cakes are my all time favourite is a shy and serious chap. for some reason, whenever i enter his shop, he'll take a peep and seeing that its me, leave the attending to his parents and shy away into the depths of his kitchen. in fact, when he first set up his shop just outside my place, i tot he looked like a ex-convict who picked up baking in prison and turned over a new leaf. haha, sometimes i still think so.... so instead of walking the usual way home, ie past his shop, i'll sometimes use another route just to avoid him seeing me. i dunno why this weirdness, just self-conscious and awkwardness i guess. coz we'll both avoid each other's eyes, but i know he'll be looking as i walk by. haha, sounds abit creepy.

today, on my way home, i decided to satisfy my cravings for his sinfully rich and fattening brownies after depriving myself for awhile due to a slowly more-and-more visible belly. as usual, when i walked in, he took a peep to see who the customer was, but instead of going back into his kitchen, he said a loud HELLO and attended to my orders. after boxing up my brownies n giving me my change, he asked in mandarin with a smile, "did u have chicken pox?" OMG, i wanted to die. if only i had more willpower to deny my cravings. "no lah, i've just been very stressed. exams." was all i could mumble back with an embarrassed smile as i quickly turned around to leave. he advised,"must eat more cooling things" and with a "thank you" back-facing him, i left hastily.

ahhhh.... and i tot my pimple breakout has been clearing rather well. damn. i'll definitely be staying indoors this weekend.
