mr i-banker

had a dinner date with hot shot i-banker KK last fri, who's most prob, no, without a doubt one of the highest earning smu fresh grad. was kinda craving for french so brought him on a little india adventure to farrer's park The French Stall. the area is totally not his usual hangout choice obviously, and after both of us getting slightly lost and flustered, he was like, "oh no, that place no aircon rite? it had better be gooood man." haha, despite the not so glam location, the bill still amounted to a significant amount. let's just say its almost thrice wat i usually spend on a nite out. but well, the foie gras was mmmmmm! as u let it melt in ur mouth, and the rose wine was nice n light, just rite for me too. =) the company was enjoyable. i was actually quite surprised that he asked to meet up since we aint all that close, tho he was one of the nicer concerned frens during my changrai comm service trip few yrs back and we certainly can get along.

many times i envy those in the financial sector. the high(er) remuneration and glam titles... but nahz, i can never take those inhuman hours. just working till abt 9 for the past few weeks has left me old an haggard with panda eyes and breakouts. concealer is now my best fren... still it fades and by the end of the day, the spots are obvious and i am sooo staying clear of the cake shop boss who once commented "you just had chicken pox ah?" =.=

hanging out with KK made me realise that i'm not quite the girl i used to be. sure, having the luxuries in life is nothing less of fab, but it just gets scary when that's the only way of life you know and can live with. the meaning to material wealth just seems sooo much more when shared, esp - no, actually, only with kind people who need it more or for greater purposes...........

somehow i haf a feeling my future boyfren/husband wont be sgrean, or at least, not typical sgrean. he must be a rather special person... bcoz i'm not ur average girl either. ;)

been working late the entire week (after 9), n the only day i left at a decent time, the Lord painted the sky a gorgeous, breathtaking peach-pink. a sudden upwelling of tears as i was reminded of how beautiful the world is wherever i am bcoz my Lord is always the same and His love never ends. =)

work has been good. i dun mind working late as i think most of u know i like to be kept busy. n being busy keeps my mind off other things such as a constant concern for the lack of activity in the love department. but its not too much a worry at the mo la. i'm more concerned about my career, n if there is one if i continue in this path..... hmmm, the company's undergoing a huge reorg which brought abt alot of compliance matters which i'm working on lately. besides that, there's much uncertainty still abt my future..... think it'll sort out in a month or so tho when i get my perm posting. aiz, i'm just rambling........

managed to meet deedee for a late dinner last nite. its soo nice catching up, indulging in really oily prata and for him to say that i've slimmed down. heh. hope it stays that way since i'm back to a land with wonderful food. (hah, who am i kidding after the prata....)

my frens are internationalizing (if thats a right word....). despite the missing, i'm very happy for them, for their opportunities. perhaps i shall start praying for my own too ;)

CAPAP09 assessment

woke up early this morning and got dressed in a really pretty formal black sleeveless dress that i've not worn b4, matched with my peep-toe black heels from bangkok n new black flowery framed specs (that everyone has been commenting: how nice n special. heh!). it was the assessment center day for the next batch of CAPAP u see, n i hafta look more formal (n inevitably, prettier =p) than usual ;)

i always find interacting with ppl rather tiring. n we had to do just that the whole day. i mean, its an interesting day n quite exciting in fact, but doesn't change the fact that it is tiring to be nice n frenly n all smiles n all ready to answer qns the entire day....... actually i am rather disappointed with the quality/standard of the pple who came for the interview today. out of the 10, there were only a couple whom i'll wanna be frens with. n sadly, out of those few, some didn't perform at all during the assessment. n u know, our assessment isn't a breeze at all - involving panel interview, impromtu presentation, teamwork activity n group discussion. oh well,,, i guess that's why u rarely find frens among colleagues. (i am SO thankful bel n i are frens! =))

a twist to the day came at the end when the panel (top mgmt) decided to call us back to ask for our feedback n opinion abt the candidates from our informal interactions with them. apparently they had a hard time shortlisting them and it wasn't as clear cut as last yr ;p. but sigh, as how such things usually work with mgmt - ur voice is heard but ur influence is small n their opinions are stronger n their decision always final. usually, they just like u there to concur...... anyway, so there are ppl i dun fancy in their top choices. i just hope they dun sign! hahaha..... geesh, we'll see how it goes, n i really should care less.

on a side note, i think i'm becoming more n more judgemental........ no good ah......
