meeting up with good frens is such a joy =) n yes, i was in the same outfit for both occasions, haha.
friday nite, went for a christian musical (http://www.love-above-all.org/) with CCC (cheesecake club) minus yuhan, ie xiayi, kelly n yushan. the musical was impressive! i think daniel's church did a great job! n it was soo good to see the girls again!
n today, met up with dear dear dear joanna. there's always so much to tok abt! 5hours together seemed to pass like a flash n couldnt bear to part. haha.
its really amazing how God knits people's hearts together as good frens. like how u share n truly feel each others' joy, sorrow n worries. how i thank God for my angels on earth. =)

i think he knows. that i'm still reading his blog. he seems to be getting on fine with life, dating girls for dinner one-on-one regularly. he has moved on. there's nothing surprising to that, but still, reading abt his dates gets to me.
last nite i read "i still cant forgive her for giving up". hmm i suspected as much. whenever i log on to gmail, he'll immediately change his status to busy. he nv appears online on msn anymore n even removed me as a fren on facebook. hmm its really not as if i'll initiate chat with him or anything.
told my best fren sometime ago... "i wished he understood. but i know thats asking too much of him." she replied, "he's supposedly the 'victim', he wont."
yup...... i oso dunno how to continue this entry. xiayi exclaimed over msn the other day, "stop reading his blog!"......
i'm not looking back, i've not since that email i wrote him. just that i dun understand why i still care.
its his blog. he has every right to write watever he want. its just me... i shld just take xiayi's advice.

about events
i've always believed i'm meant to do big things. how big? i'm not sure. but that's why i loved organising events in smu despite the countless hours of free manual labour, irresponsible teammates u meet, the lousy office politics u're exposed to and demanding arrogant sponsors u hafta please. events made me grow up, opened up eyes to lots of things nv known to me. it allowed me to meet all kinds of pple, learn to negotiate, to fight for things that i believe in and to sacrifice n give myself to community, pple i dun even know.
i remember that one incident during Open House very clearly, when some ungrateful smu wakeboarders including this model who's in the media now (i shant name names here) confronted n scolded me for being biased against their cca. there was this competition gg on btw ccas n there was a loophole that i didn't think of when planning the event. so these unethical ccas were using that loophole just so their cca will win the prize money when it was clearly against the rules i stated. there was no way of being fair to the rest of the ccas n as an organiser i could only try my best to come down on the cca that was breaking the rules most blatantly. knowing that i was a mere freshie, they were literally shouting into my face. thankfully linda, my chair, came to my rescue, or else i would haf just broken down in front of these evil pple. still, i went into the committee's holding room n cried. i worked my ass off for this event n yet such idiots spoilt it.
looking back, i smile. i'm much stronger now n can definitely deal with such situations better.
besides Open House, i also organised VIVACE twice n SMUve. of all, i feel the most for the first VIVACE since it was the very first one ever held b4 n we were the pioneer committee. not many know this, but i was the one who thought of the event's name. Vivace, it means lively n spirited. n that was wat we envisioned the event to be like. To convince the student office to use the name (since those managers always liked our ideas to be substantiated), our comm collectively came up with the the following, hence the caps to the word vivace.
"The event signifies the freshmen's first step into SMU as Vibrant Individuals. They bring Vitality, and as they embark on an Adventure in SMU, blending their own values with that of SMU's Culture, they go through a journey of Evolution."
haha sounds quite crap to me now. but watever =p
i came across this group on facebook today - "When i join SMU... there was VIVACE but now we haf CCA day ...": For everyone who have been to VIVACE.... and thinks its much cooler than CCA day... (http://smusg.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2419275501)
read the wall posts n couldn't help but keep grinning. the story is that this yr's committee decided to change the event's name back to CCA Day, claiming that nobody knows wat VIVACE means. hahaha, like how lame. the point is to make them know! the more pple know wat it is, it measures the success of ur event! i'm just so happy that so many pple actually recognise the significance of VIVACE and how it plays a part in smu's student life n image. i'm so glad i was a huge part of it n sad that its not kept as a smu tradition. but knowing how the school n office works, its pointless to fight for the name to be left as it is. at least pple remembers n identifies with it =) n thats the whole point of events izzant it? to create fond memories.
the original VIVACE committee, 2004
the original VIVACE poster that i so loved. designed by my angel n senior fr HC. n which totally beats the bean-man icon of VIVACE06.

another day of slacking at home. booboo. feel so fei4 not doing anything n just waiting........
read the sat papers abt class of 2007 being "the lucky lot". hmmmmm, funny. why do i not share the same sentiments? given all my free time, i've been thinking abt it... why haf i not landed a job when i've got a double degree n graduated with cum laude? my cv's not that bad either.... n i'm rarely nervous during interviews. maybe i've just been applying to the wrong jobs. its really weird, my whole job search experience...... i cant think of an answer.
but i've not lost hope or confidence. misquoting dory in finding nemo: just keep praying just keep praying just keep praying =)
had dinner with justin on fri, n he said i'm in "religious mode" recently in all my blog entries. hahah. experiencing God is a wonderful thing n definitely smthg i like to share abt.
took a different route home after fri's dinner which brought me past the playground. made me think abt the times i spent with calvin, feng n even dory there. spent the most time there with calvin, just playing on ths swing, sitting on the bench n looking up at the nite sky - my young n foolish n hopeless romantic days. an actual relationship w dory didn't even begin, so i wld categorise it as just flirting. whereas for feng, memories at the playground were good n happy ones. one place, three guys, all just memories.
went back to sch on sat with a couple of frens to try to capture some memories of our new campus for eternity. goodbye smu, i'm glad my time with u is over.

Jupiter reminds
i really like my church n the messages i receive from the pulpit everyweek that are always so informative, remindful, stirring n applicable. thank God for a church that teaches the Word so fervently n truthfully.
our senior pastor included a little did-you-know tidbit in his sermon this week. it was abt jupiter being a divine vacuum cleaner that sucks clean any comets n meteorites that are heading earth's way due to its overwhelming gravitational pull, n thus sustains human life on our fragile earth. (http://www.solarsystem.org.uk/jupiter/) without jupiter, can u imagine how much damage our planet will receive from all this space garbage?
i was veryvery interested in the solar system n stars when i was young. of all the books in my enclycopedia series, Child Craft, i only regularly took out the book on "World n Space" to study abt the different constellations n characteristics of the various planets. i was fascinated with all this universe stuff that is so beyond my reach n even dreamt of being an astronaut. i also worked on this interest for my O levels' art project where my fabric design was based on the ideas of greek mythology n planets since the latter was named after greek gods.
so when paster toked abt this particular tidbit that i nv read abt, i was greatly touched n immediately teared. hahah. not bcoz he included planets in his sermon, but bcoz, here i was being so self-focused on my insignificant being n my job (or lackof) n not totally trusting our almighty God who created the heavens n earth n the entire universe with all its wonder n mystery. there's soo many things that i'm not aware of that God is doing for me every moment of my life! i mean, altho the creation of jupiter and its role as a vacuum cleaner affects the entire human race, its also for my survival too. most importantly, God bankrupted heaven and gave ALL, the best, His only Son, to His children on earth just so we can be reconciled with Him.
wat more can i ask? wat reason is there for not trusting totally n committing everything into His hands? none! nil! ...........................my bad.

From "Captivating" by John & Stasi Eldredge......
"Jesus has to thwart us too - thwart our self-redemptive plans, our controlling and our hiding, thwart the ways we are seeking to fill the ache within us. Otherwise, we would never fully turn to him for our rescue. Oh, we might turn to him for our "salvation", for a ticket to heaven when we die. We might turn to him even in the form of Christian service, regular church attendance, a moral life. But inside, our hearts remain broken and captive and far from the One who can help us.
And so you will see the gentle, firm hand of God in a woman's life hemming her in. He'll make what once was a great job miserable, if it was in her career that she found shelter. He'll bring hardship into her marriage, even to the breaking point, if it was in marriage she sought he salvation. Whatever it is we have sought life apart from him, he disrupts our plans, our "way of life" which is not life at all."
i dun expect anyone to understand my decision............. bcoz even now, even I, dun fully understand. i still struggle every single day, every single moment. n soo many times, i hafta remind myself to just breathe. breathe, n that moment will be over. breathe, n maybe i'll be just that little closer to that point of understanding.
everyday, i feel like i'm living in a daze..... time is just passing me by. i wonder if its the medication, or maybe the high fever has really done some irreversible damage to my brain.
i haven't smiled, as in really smile, for the longest time. i wonder when that will change.
i wish things could change. i wish i could go back. why izzit that 2 ppl who love each other cant be together?? but i cant go back n its taking every ounce of my willpower to say i wont every waking moment of my life.
There's a reason He has decided to disrupt my plans. God's ways are higher than mine. He will fulfill His purpose in me. He has chosen me; I shouldn't be afraid. Trust, just trust in God. Hold on and hold still. He will not fail me.

Closure.
Dear feng,
i haven't been feeling well this couple of days, mainly due to a serious case of cold that has left me un-functionable. this weakness made me yearn for someone close by to hold n make all things alright. that's why its been an exceptionally painful week.
i guess wat u wrote on ur blog made it worse.
u loved me alot. i know. but how can u deny my love for you after all i've done for you? after everything i've shared with you, after all that i've given you.
you loved me and i loved you back. and my love was true. but God has called me to take a different path and i have chosen to obey.
this journey is so painful precisely bcoz my feelings for you were true and still exists.
i guess it doesn't matter anymore wat u think. maybe u'll feel better by convincing urself that i didn't/don't love u.
so think wat you want. i just pray u'll heal soon n same for me.
its my turn to say goodbye. i dun need you to validate me or my love no more. neither will i look back anymore.
thank you for letting me go without a fight. goodbye feng. may you experience God n his love everyday in a very real way.
ps: i left a note in your inuyasha case, hope u saw it.
A

Romans 8:18-25
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
It tells the untold story of how things were meant to be
You saw the universe
Caught up in desperate dreams
You came and changed the ending
Changed it to save my fate
You led the revolution
You left your legacy
Embraced the struggle
in the face of mortality
I know I'm not alone in this
Help me believe
I can be free
I can be free from this place
Beautiful healer
Beautiful grace
Help me to see
Everything fall into place
Wake me from dreaming
No more deceiving
Break these chains
It's still the same old story
This great divide
Between the want and waste
And all the hunger inside
I heard the news today
Now I'm trying to find my place
I'm just a single voice
What can I do to erase
All this misunderstanding
All this anarchy
Six degrees of separation
Sometimes it's so hard to see
That we are not alone in this
I need to believe
I can be free
I can be free from this place
Beautiful healer
Beautiful grace
Help me to see
Everything fall into place
Wake me from dreaming
No more deceiving
Break these chains
