Day 5 Software Design Championships & Formal Dinner

last nite was fun. went over to ed n stanley's room to play cards - a game called shit. i lost quite a few rounds n had to drink white wine. wasn't exactly drunk, but couldn't really walk straight, n felt my head swaying... hahaha. then we played the hand game - electric current. everything was real fun coz ed is totally hilarious.

justin got drunk n vincent had to support him back to his room. i tagged along to open their door for them n justin juz totally fell flat on his face on the bed n slept. hahaha. i oso learnt to play the guitar last nite. ed n stan are both really good teachers!

we missed breakfast this morn, only got up ard 11am. went for the software design championship round n short films screening the entire afternoon. the films were good. loved the canadian's one. but some presentations were so BORING, i actually fell asleep. i couldn't believe the german team beat us to the championship. their system is crap n their presentation suck to the core. they were trying to do a CNN thingy. "hi i'm katrina n i'll bring u thru today's presentation. there's rolf who will blah blah. rolf please." "thankew katrina". gosh. LOUSY.

i'm convinced that the finalists were totally politics. but the russian team is seriously THE BEST. there is totally no way we could beat them. their level is SO beyond. their system was to allow musicians who are geographically apart to see each other n play music together. like how is that possible rite? but they could do it! thru video n streamlining the music n tech stuff i cant understand of coz. its totally mind-blowing. n they themselves are musicians, so they had a lil concert demo with the keyboard guy locked away in some backstage room. was damn good. if they do not win, that's the most kelong ever. am rooting for them. they're genuises.

dinner was at this club. lousy food. everything was cold! a singaporean diplomat joined us for dinner n sat next to me. she's rather nice - no airs about her. found out more abt MFA... maybe i shld try out intern there.
