feng's new fish tank
i had a totally enjoyable friday with my feng. his uncle gave him 2 huge tanks u see, so of coz they hafta be filled up, and that was the agenda of our date - fishie shopping =)
first we stopped by this shop near hiding place, seletar. he felt that the prices were on the high side, so we went to pasir ris where there were sooo many fish and puppy farms. totally din know such places existed in sg, really very interesting. heehee! anyway, we walked ard n found that the first farm was still the best and bought all the fishes there. had so much fun choosing the fishes that we want - beautiful neon tetras, colourful guppies, kinda intimidating silver sharks, not-so-ugly goldfishes, hardly-there skeleton fishes, weird algae fishies and a couple more tt i dunno the kind. haha! oh, we picked out plants to deco n sand for the tank base too, to make the fishies' new home more pretty. think i made quite alot of noise at the rather empty aquarium. haha, we had to catch our own fishes lah, n of coz excited me cant help but exclaim from time to time. =p all in all, we bought 49 fishes, plants and 10kg of sand totalling $64. haiz, this hobby is certainly not v cheap. i think the price we paid considered on the low side liaoz, esp since the uncles refused to give further discount despite my sweet voice. only gave $4 off, bleahz.
we got home, placed the fish bags into the water and washed the sand. oops! i meant, his home. haha toking as if we're married oredi. had a sumptuous dinner together w his sis, cousins n aunt prepared by his mum. was kinda weird coz they were v quiet n i v shy. anyway, after dinner, decorated the tank and released the fishies into their new home. the guppies were the fastest to adapt. v soon they seem v happy n carefree swimming abt. they were the first to eat too. unfortunately, there was a female guppy that seemed to haf gotten injured on the way home n died the next morning.
i was very happy with how the tank turned out. planning to start naming the fishes the next time i visit. hahaha! more importantly, it was a wonderful day with feng and i'm delighted that he was so happy too. hopefully he will not start neglecting me bcoz of his pretty fishes. he oredi did that nite when he chose to sit in front of his tank instead of beside me while watching tv, b4 i started whining that is. hahahha.
