yin yoga, taka surveys and deedee's bday surprise
woke up dead early on sat to attend a trial yoga lesson at True Yoga with my mum n her fren. apparently her fren is a black vip card holder, so can bring frens for free lessons. we attended a Yin yoga class which is very different from the hatha yoga that i'm learning every thurs at bishan cc. basically, the poses are somewat the same, but for yin yoga, we stay in a particular pose for length, abt 5min, to stretch and cause pressure on our yin tissues. hmm... i think its good coz it trains flexibility and calms ur mind, but find it a tad too boring.......... during relaxation in the last 10min as we lay on the floor concentrating on our breathing, i fell aslp. haha. the studio was airconditioned, there was calming music and lavender scent was burning..... gosh, so sleep inducing.... but mama didn't. she said, "why spend so much money to sleep?" haiz, but thats wat ppl need nowadays rite? pay lots of money just to relax.
spent my sat afternoon at taka's taxi stand conducting surveys. it wasn't as bad as the first session when i tried to catch ppl at the entrance. there was a long queue, and pple are more receptive to doing a good deed while killing time. nonetheless, there are still pple who juz plain don't wanna help and just waves you off rudely. i feel sorry for such ppl coz in the end, they're the ones who haf a difficult time as they had to haf their faces turned away from me all the time and had to just keep looking in one direction. haha.
halfway thru, my prof n her husband turned up. her husband is this great big australian who's like > 6feet with a huge huge belly. haha, anyway, he worked! the plan was for him to approach those pple in queue, n when anyone agrees to help, me or my prof will be despatched to conduct the survey. haha. the hypothesis is that singaporeans are bias towards white foreigners and are more willing to listen to wat they hafta say and end up agreeing to help. and it turned out rather true! i guess its juz normal that ppl always assume that anyone who approaches them is either selling smthg or asking for donation.
had dinner with feng n his frens at Jerk Thai. the pineapple rice and grilled sotong is nice!!! =)
sunday nite was like a farewell dinner for deedee with daryl n alvin. thai again at lemongrass - the mango sliced fish is recommended! anyway, there was this really very pretty girl sitting at the next table besides me. so both the small eyes qi4 ko1 pei4 kept stealing glances at her n discussing abt her. and deedee who sat next to me even said, "liyi, actually i'm not looking at u when i turn to face u, u know rite?" like, BLEAHZ.
but the highlight of the day was when me n daryl turned up to surprise deedee with a bday cake at his doorstep later that nite after we initially went our separate ways home. after we lighted the cake along the corridor, i tricked deedee by calling him n saying that i juz broke up with feng, am ultra upset, n at his void deck now with daryl n need to tok. but haha, he took such a long time to come out of his flat, the candles were oredi half gone n i was getting very worried that we were at the wrong block or wrong unit. deedee was soo surprised, he juz stared at the cake for very long b4 blowing out the candles. hahaha. so funny. too bad i forgot to take photos.
bday surprise operation was a success! surprises are fun!
