i was bored and toked to the intern sitting behind me. thats wat i always do when i am bored lah, haha. i asked her if she does sports and as we were toking, she suddenly said i look like a dancer. =) it made me very happy, coz its a compliment rite?
n since xiongge was feeling down yest, i was checking on him and shared with him the compliment that made me happy. and he too said i look like a dancer,
and model. haha, but i think he was just playing along lah.
we had a dept dinner at Indian Wok just now. its this indian-chinese cuisine place at upper east coast road with beautiful interior decos, reasonably priced and its really good! very tasty and spicy food. had to ask them to really cut down on the spice since everyone was oredi sniffing when we were only at the starters. and boss ordered a bottle of red wine, so i had a glass too. feel so grown up =p and i'm STUFFED. boss ordered soo much food, there was sooo much food left over. when the waitress came over to ask if we wanna dabao home, everyone was like "no". so i was too paiseh and din wanna be thick skin to say i wan. but its really SO wasted. n u know how cheapskate i am lah.
toking abt money, i was very shocked that it is by default that all chinese employees in singapore are donating $1 outta their salaries every month to CDAC (Chinese Devt Assistant Council). hmm.... am i the only hopelessly clueless one? or do most ppl know? coz apparently, if i wanna opt out, hafta fill in form and everything - quite lehchey. but i find it shocking that if i didn't ask, i wouldn't know that the govt is "forcing" me to donate $1 every month to a charity that i didn't even choose............ =(
n a lil abt work. this week and last, we are receiving training from procurement and logistics. so basically we just set a time with individuals from the dept and they teach us about processes and their job roles. today, a log lady was telling us about this report she has to generate every month to submit to her boss. but when i asked her wat the purpose of the report was, she couldn't ans me. i'm quite astonished she didnt know why she had to do this and has just been churning out reports as instructed. its rather sad....... i wonder when the inquisitive spark in people fizzles out? or does it hafta do with education level? i dun think its position level tho, coz i think if u ask, most colleagues or boss are nice enough to explain roughly.....
i just know i can never live or work like that. and hope i'll nv be too desensitized to become like that one day.
