24 years of age

the older i get, the more insignificant birthdays become. i wonder whether its the ageing effect. i mean, i'm less excitable and am just happy to spend some relaxing time with mummy. in fact, i was even struggling whether to tell my colleagues that it was my bday. in the end, told the younger ones and treated them to lunch. in return, i got a surprise gift (a rather useless wooden table deco thing that when wound up, plays silent nite - which i will place on my desk and irritate them with it when we work late, =p) and a grandma card (despite me being the youngest). yes, my colleagues are strange but are an interesting bunch to hang with.

didn't tell my boss or colleagues in my team coz if i did, it would be like screaming "treat me!" n they were all older and might be more sensitive to birthdays... u know. altho its not so nice to be in a dept that doesn't celebrate each other's bdays, not everything is ideal, so it doesn't really matter. in fact, i realise that more n more things dont matter with age, haha. perhaps its just maturity that enables one to narrow down on the few things that do.

hmm i shall stop rambling like a grandma now, heh.....

so here's a record of how i spent my 24th bday. slept in and did a facial while waiting for mum to return from market with my fave breakfast. in the aft, mum n i went for dimsum high tea buffet at goodwood park hotel. it was really good! and they served a complimentary durian pudding which was to-die-for. coming from a durian-shunner, you can imagine how tasty it was. shopping followed and after getting wat i was looking for - skinny jeans, we went home for the cake cutting and had rich royal choc cake for supper =) eating and shopping - wat i do best. haha, a perfect simple enjoyable birthday.

actually, i cant believe i'm 24. dont let the number of candles fool you, i feel exactly the same as a few yrs ago. i am from today onwards, a self-proclaimed forever 21er. =p
