captivating Jannah

little Jannah half skipped into the room, with that sweet sweet smile on her adorable round face, big innocent eyes twinkling, short hair bouncing just above her shoulders. her pink and white dress with tiny flowers all over looked mini on her. perhaps its her favorite dress that she just doesn't wanna give away. her entrance was like a burst of little sunshine. she wasn't shy at all entering class late, instead she was really excited :) "hello Jannah!", i greeted her from across the room and her smile widened. the children turned around to check out the newcomer. she joined the class standing way up front, participating enthusiastically in all the actions of the song despite it being her first time.

Elliot was obviously mersmerised by her. He couldn't really pay attention to the teacher's instructions anymore, half of the time, he was looking at Jannah. finally after the songs ended, he gallantly asked her, "what's your name?" n Jannah, her friendly confident personality clearly showing, announced her full name loud enough for the whole class to hear - not proudly mind you, but rather, just happy to make frens, that cheery smile always present.

craft time came, and somehow, Elliot ended up on the same table as Jannah. he asked her a question and she spoke, just as how chatty little girls speak - seemingly very adult yet very random. i stood before Elliot, hand on his head, asking him to turn around to face me so that i could start with craft instructions. it took some time for him to peel his eyes off pretty Jannah to focus on me.

it's things like these that are so interesting to watch. i thoroughly enjoy serving in sunday school. there will surely be funny little moments when the children say something totally unexpected or do something adorable. witnessing little frenships forming like that of Jannah and Elliot is just so precious :) if only grown up guys are more chivalrous too! Elliot's intent on Jannah was classic. there's so much we can learn from children.... the joy that emanates from Jannah is entirely pure. the closest thing i've ever witnessed to the sweet aroma that's often described. she's the epitome of a captivating girl.

i pray someday i too will have that kinda effect on someone chivalrous.
