i love mummy love me

i was set on visiting india with my regular travel buddies next yr. a once in a lifetime experience that i was excited abt n really looking fwd to! backpacking (me backpacking!! i cant imagine too actually) with a group of trust worthy frens whose travel styles i'm familiar with. but mum's unease and worry made me pull out =( nonetheless, here's the extract on why its worth it to honour my parent. i was so moved by mum's response that i started tearing in office when i read it.

Dear friends
I'm sorry to break this bad news to you :( I've decided not to join Feb's India trip. As you know, I really wanted to go too, to have a different experience in incredible India plus travel together with all of you again. But I haven't been able to get my mum's blessings to go on the trip, and I'll feel bad to go ahead because she'll be very worried....

Thanks Jami and Bibhu for your efforts in convincing and persuading my mum when you were here! She was really OK to let me go then! but there are many reports and news recently about the india super bug that doesn't have any antibiotics cure which is the main reason why she doesn't want me to go.

anyway, please dont let my absence affect your moods for the trip! its very exciting n i'm sure it'll be great fun and many new experiences for everyone! please share your interesting and funny stories with me!!

ps: pook, i'm thinking of the possibility of songkran oredi :p

Best Regards,
Angela Tan

Hello All,

I'm just back from India yesterday night. Delhi, Leh and Varanasi gave me great memories. India isn't bad as the rumors said...they respect in God and quite gentle to women. They also don't drink alcohol..... but yes, the environment might not be nice compared to our countries.

Sometime I pissed off about what they did, but good friends will help. Actually the most dangerous thing in india is our mindset. I was so scared before I left Bangkok and was so jerky in first 2 days but it was gone after third day come. Indian style is very interested to see and try. I experienced by myself that Indian are kind and willing to help. I didn't face any problems during the trip.

So... Angela, if you want to try to convince your mom again, you can share my 9 day experiences with her. I'm willing to help answers all her worries. I never pee improperly.... I enjoyed Indian food... I might stepped on Bull's shit but it's okay. I was happy travelling in India.

Pap and Krit, who were travelling with me, will join our trip in Feb too. So you have more two reliable guys taking care :)

ps: I think I might go somewhere during Songkran (see how's fast I plan a trip ;p). Do you have other months in mind? I can arrange Songkran festival at my house for you if you want too :)
Best Regards,

Pook
